Want more credit card options?WalletHub makes it easy to compare credit card across many companies.
USAA has been in my wallet for 40 years. Last year, I called to increase my automatic payment. The automatic payment is many times the minimum payment. USAA has an outdated system that requires them to turn off automatic payments and then restart them. They did this for me while I was on the phone. I asked, and they said not to worry, the current payment would get made. It didn't. They blocked the card while I was traveling and engaged collection services. I paid them and stopped using the card, almost completely. One monthly charge remained, for $300.
Last month, they suddenly decided that my $1,000 automatic payment was too large, so they would only take $15—the minimum. Some bright manager probably figured they could encourage me to carry a balance this way. I called them up, and they confirmed that it wasn't an error. I registered a complaint which they ignored. I switched cards for that last monthly charge and paid the balance manually.
These guys are incompetent. I wouldn't trust them with your banking.
USSA credit card sucks. My interest rate started out at 10.1 and was told it wouldn’t go up. Now it’s at 17 percent therefore I closed the credit card and transferred all of my insurance to State Farm. I was surprised to find out that State Farm was Cheaper!

I have been well pleased with USAA bank. Their staff is always available and has the answers to my questions whenever I ask. I would also recommend their insurance plans for home and car.
I had my USAA credit card account hacked and that person made an unauthorized payment to USAA from my Checking account. I have been trying for a month now to get this reversed. Every time I call I have to start all over again with my story until I demand an escalation. I have called 5x and now and each time I'm told their working on and to call back at a later date. Today's call has me calling back on 12/09. I have been a member for 34 years, never missed a payment and this is how I'm being treated. All I want is my money back in my chercking account and USAA is giving me the run around. This company does not have your back. Do not believe their TV commercials. Find another credit card company.

USAA put an 8-day hold on an automatic bank payment, causing them to decline an important vendor charge since without that payment the card would have been over credit limit. This to a 54 year customer with no late payments.
I do not use this card very much I had a $5.67 balance that I was not aware of. I did not request paperless billing yet they never sent me a bill. They never called me to tell me that I had a delinquent balance. They reported me to all three agencies and my credit score dropped over 100 points. I tried several times to phone USAA to request help with this but there is nobody to speak with about this issue. I wrote the VP of the department...nothing. I appealed to USAA (also in writing) to remove the delinquency from my credit history...they refused saying they did nothing wrong. All this from a company who claims they have world class service. Right! This service was one of a kind for sure.

This company locked my account down the day before Christmas right after I got paid from Social security. I had to get an attorney the day before Christmas to get these people to release my funds so that I could have a merry Christmas with my family! To log in to your USAA credit card account, go to the login page on the USAA website or mobile app and enter your username and password in the appropriate fields. Then, click the “Log On” to access your online account. If you don't already have an account, you will need to start by clicking “Register For Access” in order to set up a username and password.
How to Log in to a USAA Credit Card Account
Register your USAA credit card for online account access. Click “Register For Access” and enter your USAA number or Social Security number to verify your credit card account.
Choose your USAA username and password. The username must be at least 5 characters, including special characters, and no spaces. The password must contain at least 8 characters and have at least one lowercase letter, one uppercase letter, and one number. It can't start with an uppercase letter or end with a number. If you forget your login information, click “I need help logging on” on the USAA login page. Then, follow the prompts to reset or retrieve your username or password.
No, USAA doesn't have any student credit cards at the moment. This doesn't mean you are out of options, though, as there are several good student credit cards offered by other issuers. A good card to consider is the Capital One SavorOne Student Cash Rewards Credit Card (see Rates & Fees). This card offers 1 - 8% cash back on purchases and has a $0 annual fee. The card accepts people with no credit.
USAA has pre-approval, but it only extends pre-approved offers via mail or e-mail, or to existing customers through their online account. USAA does not have an online tool that anyone can use to check their pre-approval status. And unlike online pre-approvals that may return results for multiple cards with the highest odds of approval, USAA's mailed or e-mailed pre-approval offers will be for one specific credit card.
The best USAA cash back credit card is the USAA Preferred Cash Rewards Credit Card because it offers 1.5% cash back on purchases. The card also has a $0 annual fee and requires good credit for approval.
Ongoing Rewards: 5% cash back on gas and military base purchases (up to $3,000 spent per year), 2% cash back at supermarkets (up to $3,000 spent per year), and 1% back on all other purchases
