Lufthansa Credit Card's Additional Info
0% Introductory APR on balance transfers that post to your account within 45 days of account opening.
Valuable initial bonus. You'll get 50,000 miles for spending at least $3,000 within 90 days of opening a Lufthansa Credit Card account. While most points/miles are worth about a penny apiece, each Lufthansa mile is redeemable for slightly more ($0.0166) than that amount. That means you’re getting about $830 in bonus rewards for spending $3,000, for an earning rate of 40% cash back.
Uniquely versatile airline rewards. Most airline-affiliated credit cards give you their maximum earning rates only when you buy tickets directly from the particular airline whose branding they bear. The Lufthansa Mastercard is a bit different, though. You’ll earn 2 miles / $1 spent (~3.32% back) on tickets purchased directly from any Miles & More airline, which includes Air Canada, Asiana Airlines and more. You’ll also earn 1 mile / $1 (~1.66% back) on all other purchases, but you’re probably better off using a general-purpose travel rewards card.
Extra perks annually. The Lufthansa Credit Card gives you a free companion ticket and two vouchers to a Lufthansa Business Lounge upon first purchase and each year thereafter. As long as you fly with a family member, colleague or friend at least once a year, these perks should more than cover the cost of the Lufthansa Card’s $89 annual fee.
Fairly high annual fee. To put the Lufthansa Mastercard’s $89 annual fee into context, the average credit card charges just $21.58 per year, according to WalletHub’s latest Credit Card Landscape Report. And while the best travel rewards cards have annual fees comparable to the Lufthansa Card’s, most waive the charge for the first year.
Not the card for financing. The Lufthansa Credit Card offers a 0% for 15 months introductory APR on balance transfers, which would be attractive if not for the 5% (min $5) balance-transfer fee that accompanies it. Similarly, you can easily do better than the Lufthansa Card’s regular APR, which could be well above the averages among credit cards for people with good credit (24.1%) and excellent credit (18.01%), according to WalletHub research.
Good credit or better needed for approval. The Lufthansa Miles and More Credit Card, as it is more formally known, generally requires good or excellent credit for approval. So if you’re interested, make sure to check your credit score for free on WalletHub before applying to confirm that you have a good shot at acceptance.

Very disappointed! Do not make the same mistake as I did, this card and rewards program is not worth it! I applied and got approved, I spent the required $ and received my bonus miles. I called and was approved for the companion ticket (following all the rules Lufthansa set) and when I wanted to book the tickets they couldn’t find flights for me. Same with bonus miles-very few flights to choose from!

DO NOT SIGNUP! You will NEVER see your lounge vouchers issued, and the companion ticket is a complete scam. High rates do NOT honor benefits, and their customer service is worthless.

Fulfilled all promotional requirements. Six months later still waiting for the 50,000 miles. I would never have joined if I would’ve known this would happen. Multiple calls, lots of energy spent, for what?

Total waste of money. I never received my sign up bonus. I paid the annual fee plus charged more than $3000 on the credit card within the first 90 days as advertised. But no miles were ever deposited into my account. I called customer service multiple times and they will not help me. They are clueless. No one can tell me why I don’t have my miles. This is a joke. I have both the United Explorer card and the American Aadvantage card. They gave me the miles right away, just as advertised. Don’t waste your time and money with this one.

I signed up and got an initial denial only to get a letter asking me to mail copies of my Drivers license, SS Card and utility bill to a PO Box in Delaware. In todays world there are much better ways to receive these documents. A company that disregards the security of my data this much will not get my business.

Completely unreliable bank booking dates. I've lost the miles I had before opening the account, which was the reason I opened it in the first place. Customer service never replied to my emails, only phone calls work, sometimes. Overall the worse customer experience I ever had with any banking/credit-card service in Europe.

This card has most horrible service possible. For the last 3 weeks at least, their web site does not allow me to book hotels or rental car. I have never heard of a professional company that can afford to have their booking web site down for so long. I am not sure how a company like this stays in business. Maybe its just their brand name. And then on calling the 1800 number, I am told that hotels cannot be booked on the phone as well due to a lack of access. WOW! I would give them 0 stars if i could.

Don\'t waste your time and I wouldn’t be surprised if most of the good reviews on here are paid for by Lufthansa. We were misinformed by a Lufthansa employee about the companion ticket, which is the only reason we applied for the credit card in the first place. It is pretty much worthless, compared to most other credit cards. My wife and I want to take a trip in September from Denver to Stuttgart (Denver to Frankfurt and Frankfurt to Stuttgart) and fly back to Denver from Rome (Rome to Munich and Munich to Denver). On Lufthansa’s website the price shows at $1,828 per ticket. When you call to book with the companion pass, it was not only $3,300 per ticket, since the online pricing is “promotional”, but they claimed that the Frankfurt to Stuttgart flight was “Lufthansa Cityline” and not Lufthansa, so it cannot be part of the companion pass. That’s another $125 per ticket, so in total this would cost $1,775 per person with the companion pass, or $1,828 without. For two people that’s a difference of $106 and once you factor in the $89 annual fee, we just saved a whopping $17…Tore up my credit card and I will never fly Lufthansa again, just out of principal! What a rip-off!
