You can see how these accounts compare to the rest of the market by checking out WalletHub’s latest Banking Landscape Report. And if you’re not sure a business bank account is for you, you may want to consider getting one of 2024’s best checking or savings accounts for consumers.
Methodology
To identify the best business bank accounts, WalletHub’s editorial team regularly compares over 250 offers based on APY, minimum opening deposit requirements, and a number of other features. The products listed in our Best Business Bank Accounts page were chosen for their ability to provide competitive APYs, the institution’s size (as indicated by deposit amounts or assets), and their frequent appearance in online searches or other potential considerations. Below, you can read more about how each category winner was decided:
- Best Overall Checking – The most important factors were interest rate, monthly maintenance fees and transaction limits. We also wanted an account that would have a good ACH transfer limit.
- Best Overall Savings - For this category, we primarily looked at APY, monthly fees and the minimum deposit requirement.
- Unlimited Transactions – This category focused on the ability to do as many transactions, with the highest limits. We looked for unlimited wire transfers and high ACH transfer limits.
- For High Deposits – We wanted this category to show accounts that would give interest to deposits above $1,000,000. To that end, APY was the primary factor.
- Rewards Checking – This category was aimed at consumers who prefer getting rewards, as opposed to interest. The most important aspects were ongoing rewards offered, followed by signup bonuses, but also low monthly fees.
- Low-Fee Checking – Here, we wanted the best business checking accounts that had low or no fees. The lack of monthly fees was the most important, but also overdraft and ATM fees were taken into consideration.
- Cash Checking – For this category, we looked for checking accounts with ATM cards offered, from issuers with more than 400 branches. We then considered accounts that had low cash deposit fees as well as low ATM fees.
